Hint: It’s More Often Than You Think – and Here’s Why.
Let me tell you a quick story.
A buddy of mine – let’s call him Mike – rolled up to one of our jobs in Scottsdale a few months ago in his black Escalade. Gorgeous SUV… until I got up close. Swirls, water spots, brake dust baked into the wheels, sun-faded trim. The works. He looked at me and said, half embarrassed, “Be honest with me… how bad is it?”
Now, Mike’s no slouch. He’s got a successful business, a beautiful home, and takes care of his stuff. But like a lot of people, he didn’t really know how often he should get his car detailed. He thought twice a year was plenty.
Spoiler alert: it’s not.
🚘 Think of Detailing Like Skin Care for Your Car
You wouldn’t wash your face once every six months and expect it to glow, right?
Your car’s paint, trim, wheels, and interior are constantly getting attacked by:
Arizona sun (that UV damage is brutal)
Desert dust and sand
Tree sap, bird droppings, and bug guts
Brake dust, road grime, and hard water
And inside? Kids, pets, gym bags, and spilled coffee
A monthly detail isn’t about “making it look pretty” — it’s preventative care. It protects the paint, conditions the leather, and extends the life of every inch of your investment.
Not if you're driving regularly, parking outdoors, or care about resale value.
Here’s what we recommend:
Daily Driver? Every 4 weeks — especially if you’re parking outside or commuting.
Weekend Car or Garage Queen? Every 6–8 weeks works, but interior wipe-downs and dust removal should still be regular.
Ceramic Coated Vehicle? Monthly maintenance washes preserve the coating's hydrophobic magic.
Have Kids or Dogs? Yeah… you’re probably gonna need us even more often than that.
Let me circle back to Mike.
He hadn’t detailed his car in over six months. What could’ve been a $150–$200 maintenance detail turned into a $700 job. We had to do a 2-stage paint correction, ozone treatment, deep interior scrub, and glass polish just to reverse the damage.
He signed up for our membership on the spot.
At Slix Mobile Detailing, we’ve built a 7-figure brand around one thing: transformation. And transformation doesn’t happen once a year. It happens through routine, care, and consistency.
Our clients don’t just get a clean car — they get time back, peace of mind, and that feeling of pride every time they open their garage.
So if you’re asking, “How often should I get my car detailed?” — now you know.
The better question is:
“When’s my next appointment?”
💬 Let’s get your car on a custom detailing schedule that fits your lifestyle.
